The K5 offers the choice of two turbo-charged engines that provide improved efficiency and smooth off-the-line acceleration around town or on the highway. Standard 180hp turbo drives 195lb-ft torque starting at 1,500 RPM. Lots of power at low engine speeds and exceptional confined-inspiring performance when you need it. The K5 GT offers 2.5L turbo, 290-HP and best-in-class 311-lb-ft torque through a Quick-Shift 8-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission that utilizes a wet clutch for exceptional performance with similar technology employed by Audi and Porsche.

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)

Standard Forward Collision- Avoidance Assistance (FCA) is designed to help detect a potential collision and automatically apply the brakes in a variety of circumstances.

Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCCA)

Standard Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA) scans for oncoming obstacles as you back up. If the system detects a potential hazard crossing into your intended path, it activates audio and visual warnings and possible braking intervention.

Safe Exit Assist (SEA)

Safe Exit Assist (SEA) uses rear corner radars to detect any approaching cars from behind, warning your passengers. It overrides attempts to deactivate the Electronic Child Safety Lock until it’s safe for your rear passengers to open and exit the vehicle.

Junction Turning Accident Avoidance

New to K5 and the Kia brand is available Forward Collision Avoidance (FCA) – Junction Turning. The front camera and radar can detect vehicles when turning at intersections, helping you avoid collisions.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist-Rear (BCA-R)

Available BCA-R is designed to help detect vehicles in your blind spot in certain situations, including when you change lanes, and may apply the brakes to help mitigate a collision.

Smart Cruise with Highway Drive Assist

Smart Cruise with Highway Drive Assist (SCC) automatically adjusts to maintain the driver’s pre-set speed and to keep a safe distance from the vehicle traveling directly ahead. On highways where information is available, Highway Driving Assist (HDA) can control the vehicle's steering, acceleration and deceleration functions.
